I’ve been up to a lot of shit that I have no reason not to blog about…so here it is all in one post.

- Young Jeezy concert/interview
- Kansas City and Chicago friends came to STL
- I made an awesome mixtape
- Cool Kids music video shoot for “Pennies”

ALRIGHT, HERE WE GO….

- I got to shoot at the Young Jeezy concert back on August 17th, it was sooo much fun. I was working for 247HH.com with GL-Joe and Matthias St. John and the rest of the 247HH/Ch’rewd crew. Joe hooked it up with the connections and we all were in with all-access passes. The show was completely sold out and it was so awesome having a different perspective on the show than the general public. I spent most of the time either on the side of the stage with all the CTE and BMF homies hanging around and also down in the media pit. The footage I shot was pretty sick, at least I think so but I haven’t seen it as it is all in a big office building in downtown Chicago. We also got to shoot an interview with the man himself at his hotel after the concert. He’s pretty chill and really nice. Smokes real good, too, of course. HAHA.

- The same weekend as the Young Jeezy concert, my homies from Kansas City came to town to get down on some blading. Alex, KC, and Michael kicked it for a few days and we filmed a few clips (those of which I still need to send to AJ). Matthias stayed in town for that following week and we did nothing but sweet ass shit. We took a trip to the ’7 Gates of Hell’ and ‘Acid Bridge’ with our friend Jeni and Dan, and also hit up the City Museum…of course we did it big and had all access there too, even to the roof. Footage of both awesome adventures will be posted sooner or later.

- I made a mixtape for my good friend Marianne for her birthday. Listen to it here.

- This morning I got home from a two day trip to Chicago to shoot all of the behind the scenes for The Cool Kids new video “Pennies”. I left St. Louis Tuesday morning at 1:15 AM, got to Chicago at 7 AM and was on the set from then until 11:30 PM. I think I got to sleep around 1 AM and then woke back up at 6 AM to go back out and shoot all day long. We spent the whole day on set at an abandoned gas station and got way behind schedule, which caused the remainder of the video shoot to be pushed back to sometime next week. I left Chicago last night at 11:55 PM and slept the entire way home. When I got to St. Louis it was raining and I didn’t have a ride or money so I took my chances and snuck onto the Metrolink. I took that to the stop near my house and walked the rest of the way in the rain. That part sucked but it sure felt nice to be home and get some sleep. Too bad I’m going to miss the finale of the shoot, I wanted to see it rain pennies. I’ll post the video after the drop, keep a look out on all major TV music channels in about a month for the video as well.

Busted My Face

I busted my face open last Friday night running around outside at 4am. We were running down a dark alley way and I ran straight into an open gate, eye first. Good thing for drinking and smoking, definitely helped to keep me from noticing the pain when it happened. Luckily a friend of mine had some hydrogen peroxide and neosporin to help me clean it out. Now a week later, the scabs have fallen off and I have a small v-shaped scar beneath me eye and some scars on the bridge of my nose.

Also, I finally updated the software one my iPhone so I downloaded the WordPress application…which is enabling me to make this post right now. So expect me to make more posts more often because I know I have been lacking…that is of course if anyone still looks at this. I guess leave me a comment and let me know if you actually checked this out.

Franco Shade “Nobody Cares” Contest

Entries were due by today (May 1), so I guess just stay tuned at Franco Shade to find out the winner.

ORIGINAL POST & OFFICIAL RULES:

Things have been extremely hectic getting Franco to where it is now, with that said I have never lost touch nor have I lost the desire to have some sort of impact in the rolling community. I am now getting all gears in motion for this new video project im working on that you may or may not have heard of called “Nobody Cares.”

The video will star the likes of Rachard Johnson, Chris Haffey, Franky Morales, Murda, Carlos Pianowski, and special appearances from Josh Petty and Aaron Feinberg, along with lots of old and new faces from the Future Prospects crew.

Here is the interesting part. As of right now the only person Franco Shade sponsors is Rachard Johnson, well that is going to change. We are taking video submissions to be no longer than 90 seconds showcasing your skating and individual style/personality. You will post these clips on youtube under “Nobody Cares / ‘your name’ “. After you have posted it, send an email to franco@francoshade.com to let us know that it is up and we will look for it. If you do not receive a response from us please try again until you do, as that is the only way you can be sure we have seen your submission.

You have until May 1st to do this. A committee of people involved with this project, myself included, will weed through these all and select a winner. That person will become our next sponsored pro which gives them basically all the same privileges that Rachard has had over the past few years. Along with that you will get your own feature section to go along with the pros that I earlier named in the video itself.

I’m sure there are people out there who could care less about being sponsored by Franco Shade or being in this video. For those of you just move on to the next post and enjoy your day. For the rest of you please take your submissions seriously as you will not have any chance later to add or change your edit. There will be a couple runner ups whose prizes are to be determined at a later date.
